Statistical characterization of kappa-μ shadowed fading
نویسنده
چکیده
This paper investigates a natural generalization of the κ-μ fading channel in which the line-of-sight (LOS) component is subject to shadowing. This fading distribution has a clear physical interpretation, good analytical properties and unifies the one-side Gaussian, Rayleigh, Nakagami-m, Ricean, κ-μ and Ricean shadowed fading distributions. The three basic statistical characterizations, i.e. probability density function (PDF), cumulative distribution function (CDF) and moment generating function (MGF), of the κ-μ shadowed distribution are obtained in closed-form. Then, it is also shown that the sum and maximum distributions of independent but arbitrarily distributed κ-μ shadowed variates can be expressed in closedform. This set of new statistical results is finally applied to the performance analysis of several wireless communication systems.

An Extension of the \kappa-\mu$\,$Shadowed Fading Model: Statistical Characterization and Applications
We here introduce an extension and natural generalization of both the κ-μ shadowed and the classical Beckmann fading models: the Fluctuating Beckmann (FB) fading model. This new model considers the clustering of multipath waves on which the line-of-sight (LoS) components randomly fluctuate, together with the effect of in-phase/quadrature power imbalance in the LoS and non-LoS components. Thus, ...

Abstract—In this paper, we study the statistical characterization of the sum of the squared κ − μ shadowed random variables with correlated shadowing components. The probability density function (PDF) of this sum is obtained in the form of a power series. The derived PDF is utilized for obtaining the performance results of the maximal ratio combining (MRC) scheme over correlated κ − μ shadowed ...

متن کاملA Random Matrix Model for $\kappa$-$\mu$ Shadowed Fading
This paper shows that the proposed Rician shadowed model for multi-antenna communications allows for the unification of a wide set of models, both for multiple-input multiple output (MIMO) and single-input single output (SISO) communications. The MIMO Rayleigh and MIMO Rician can be deduced from the MIMO Rician shadowed, and so their SISO counterparts. Other SISO models, besides the Rician shad...
متن کاملOn The Physical Layer Security Under κ-μ Shadowed Fading Channels With Diversity Approaches
This paper presents a investigation on the performance of security under κ-μ shadowed fading channels using the Wyner’s classic wiretap model. A better fit was presented for the κ-μ shadowed fading channel curves in relation to other fading models, as Rayleigh and Nakagami-m. Results and analyses are obtained through the Secrecy Outage Probability, the Strictly Positive Secrecy Capacity and Ave...
